Adult Bible Study Teacher

Pastor Kent moved to Phoenix with his parents from Falls City , Nebraska , when he was nine years old.

He is retired from banking where he was vice president of corporate procurement and CFO of BancStar, a subsidiary of Valley National Bank, and later Bank One.

Sometime near November of 1973 he first heard the Gospel of Christ at North Phoenix Baptist Church and in March of 1974 accepted Christ as his personal Savior while at home reading Satan Is Alive and Well on Planet Earth by Hal Lindsey.

During the last 31 years Kent has faithfully served as a Deacon, Bible Study teacher and Bible Study division coordinator. He has served on the Planning and Development Committee, Personnel Committee and Missions Committee of North Phoenix Baptist Church. In addition to church work, he is a co-founder of Friends Fore Free, a ministry that raises money to send unchurched and unsaved junior and senior high school kids to youth camp each year. 500 kids have gone to camp in the last seven years as a result of this ministry, and over 400 have given their lives the to Christ. Kent was ordained to the Gospel Ministry August of 2005.

Pastor Kent teaches Class 201 and 301, small group studies and Sunday morning verse-by-verse Bible Study. Jane, Kent’s wife of 31 years, sings on the praise team, is the Prayer Ministry Leader at NHCC, teaches on prayer and mentors women both inside and outside of the church.
