Sunday Morning Youth Service

Northern Hills Church Yourh Group logoSunday Morning Youth Service is a time when both Junior High and High School students meet together to have fun, worship together and then separate (JH & HS) for a relevant biblical message. The Youth Service takes place at 11:00am in the modular building.

High School Small Groups (6:45 - 8:30pm)

Small Groups for HS is a separate program that meets in homes. (click here for a map) Students come together at the beginning and eat snacks and hangout. Then they split off into their groups (3-6 students) in different rooms of the house. Each group is separated by gender and by preferences as they are paired with an adult leader. This structure enables them to process and discover Truth for themselves through discussion and questions that encourage them to dig deeper.

Junior High (7th & 8th Grade) Small Groups (6:35-8:00pm)

Small Groups for JV is a separate program that meets at the church. Students come together at the beginning and eat snacks and hangout. Then they split off into their groups (3-6 students) in different rooms. Each group is separated by gender and by preferences as they are paired with an adult leader. This structure enables them to process and discover Truth for themselves through discussion and questions that encourage them to dig deeper.

Second Saturday (HS); Fourth Saturday (JH)

Second/Fourth Saturday is a time for you to get together with other people your age and have a blast. Activities can include pizza parties, lock-ins, bowling, rock climbing, concerts, movie nights, game nights, laser tag, mini-golf, etc... Second/Forth Saturday is a great time to bring some friends and just have a good time.

Student Ministry Teams

These teams are student led and adult supervised. Their purpose is to give students an opportunity to serve and have ownership of their faith.

Video Team

This team is for students who are interested in being in front of a camera (dramatic or just “hams”) and “techies” who are interested in video editing. They work to come up with ideas for videos that supplement lessons and events, film events and edit them together for highlight videos, and make “commercial” or announcement videos that are played to inform students of upcoming events and activities.  Team Leader: Jared Nelson

Youth Band

Students who have musical ability and wish to serve in this capacity will lead worship at the Youth Service and other events.  We are always looking for new musicians to serve in this ministry.

Team Leader: Pastor Nick

E-Team (Evangelism Team)

This team is for students with a passion for sharing their faith and a drive to set an example in this area for other students in the youth ministry.

Team Leader: Rob Forras

Children's Ministry / Puppet Team

This team is being developed and will include regular visits to different children’s classes to teach through drama and music. This gives students a unique opportunity to serve younger children and set an example for those who look up to them. This team will be supervised by Beth Leon.

New Teams

Students will also be encouraged on a regular basis to start new ministry teams that reflect their abilities and gifts. If it is something that will be beneficial for the ministry, is appropriate, and is able to be supervised by a willing member of the youth staff, it can be started as a new student ministry team.
